Picture of the cloverleaf trap. This is a picture of our cloverleaf coils before they were installed into the experiment. The coils are made of copper refrigerator tubing. When the coils are operated, about 300 amps are sent through each coil, burning several kilowatts of power. The coils are cooled by running chilled water through the copper tubing.
