CUA Seminar: Manuel Endres – Quantum Science with Tweezer Arrays

Location:Harvard - 60 Oxford Street, room 301b
Manuel Endres, CalTech

I will give an update on experiments in our group for quantum simulation, computing, and metrology with programmable tweezer arrays. For quantum simulation, I will show results for high-fidelity entanglement generation in a metastable-to-Rydberg transition in Sr, including Bell states with ~0.9985 fidelity and benchmarking the generation of volume-law entangled states with 60 atoms, challenging state-of-the-art classical algorithms. I will then describe our work for a hybrid universal quantum computing and optical clock platform, including results for high fidelity CZ gates and mid-circuit ancilla-based readout based on shelving quantum information in motional degrees of freedom. I will wrap up with a brief overview of our recent results on scaling Cs tweezer arrays and an outlook for all three directions of simulation, computing, and metrology.

NB: This seminar will take place at an earlier time and in the new building at 60 Oxford Street.
