Mapping and probing the phase diagram of a two-component Fermi gas with strong interactions
Location:Jefferson-356
In this talk, I will present the recent results of the MIT experiment performed with $^6Li$ spin mixtures near Feshbach resonances. The phase diagram of a two-component Fermi gas with strong interactions has been obtained by mapping out the superfluid phases versus temperature, density imbalance and interaction strength. I will discuss the phase diagram and several open questions about the nature of normal and superfluid phases in the phase diagram. The rf spectrum of a new spin mixture will be also discussed, where the fermion pair size at unitarity has been determined to be about half of interparticle spacing, the largest relative pair size ever reported in fermionic superfluid systems.
