Tests of fundamental physics with diatomic molecules

Location:26-214

Compared to atoms, diatomic molecules have rich internal energy level structures due to their rotational and vibrational degrees of freedom. Our group is using these features to obtain enhanced sensitivity to a variety of effects of fundamental interest. These include the electric dipole moment of the electron; parity-violating electroweak interactions; and possible variation of the fundamental constants. This talk will give an overview of the mechanisms for enhancing these effects in molecules, and report on recent progress in these experiments in our group.
