Fedja Orucevic was born in Mostar (Bosnia-Herzegovina) and grew up in Lyon (France). After obtaining his Baccalaureat Scientifique he studied Physics at the University of Lyon. In 2003 he joined the group of prof. Serge Haroche at the Laboratoire Kastler Brossel of the Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris where he obtained his PhD in the area of Cavity Quantum Electrodynamics in 2007. The same year he joined the group of Prof. Vladan Vuletic at the MIT-Harvard Center for Ultracold Atoms where he is currently working on the Ion Trapping experiment.
