Major focus: controlled quantum dynamics of strongly interacting atom-like many-body systems.
In this area, the major focus lies on the study of controlled quantum dynamics of strongly interacting atom-like many-body systems. This includes coupled nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers and nuclear spins. Intriguing questions are the behavior of stable quantum matter away from equilibrium, quantum non-linear optics, the role of entanglement in these systems, as well as topological phenomena in hybrid photonic lattices. The latter includes atom-like emitters, photonic crystals and two-dimensional materials.
We aim to use these devices in quantum metrology in complex systems, for example perform imaging and quantum system identification using atom-like quantum probes.
