I grew up in Raleigh, North carolina, where I got my start in experimental physics working in the group of
Robert Nemanich at NCSU on various projects, including patterning of ferroelectric materials and thermionic energy
conversion with carbon-based materials. Subsequently I earned my undergraduate degree in physics at MIT, where I
worked on ion traps in the Vuletic group. I am currently pursuing my PhD at Harvard in the group of Mikhail Lukin,
studying quantum optics at the nano scale in solid state systems.
